Elaine Luria is the current Democratic Congresswoman for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, a swing district near Virginia Beach that flipped blue in 2018. Elaine is a retired Navy Commander, former small business owner, and mom. Her experience as a longtime leader has brought people together to address issues on the environment, veterans' affairs, and healthcare. She is running for re-election in 2020.
Sara Gideon (Democratic senatorial campaign)
Sara Gideon is the current Democratic Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, representing Freeport. She is a first-generation American and proud mom. A long time advocate for working across the aisle in Maine, some of Sara's priorities include healthcare, education, reproductive rights, and the climate crisis. She is running for U.S. Senate in 2020 to unseat four-term incumbent Susan Collins.
Lauren Underwood (Democratic congressional campaign)
Lauren Underwood is the Representative of Illinois’ 14th District in Congress. Lauren was appointed by President Obama to serve as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). As a career public servant at HHS, Lauren helped implement the Affordable Care Act — broadening access for those on Medicare, improving healthcare quality and reforming private insurance. Lauren will bring her firsthand knowledge to Washington and work to propose measures that will preserve and expand access to healthcare for Illinois families. Most recently, Lauren worked with a Medicaid plan in Chicago to ensure that it provided high-quality, cost-efficient care.
Daniel gade (Republican senatorial campaign)
Dr. Daniel Gade is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant colonel, professor, and public policy leader running to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia in the U.S. Senate. During more than 20 years of military service, he was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. Daniel Gade served in President George W. Bush’s administration, working on veteran issues and military health care, and has since served on several national-level policy councils, including the National Council on Disability and the Virginia Advisory Committee on Disability Compensation. Daniel lost his right leg fighting oversees in Iraq, but still, Daniel likes challenging himself in his free time: in 2010, he competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, where he won the paratriathlon category. A week later, he completed Ironman Arizona, pedaling the 112 miles with only one leg.
